21 Nord Alexis Essay. Essay commemorates the day Nord Alexis marched into Port au Prince on 21 December 1902, and declared himself president. The overprint was applied to the 2c value of the 1898 issue (Scott #47). A very scarce essay, probably one of very few copies known to exist. Condition Fine. Lot includes a 2c on 35c horizontal strip of five and a 2c on 70c bottom block of thirty. All mounted on an album page and in VF condition.
